The Adverse Destiny

The painting depicts the personification of Destiny which operates, according to ineluctable laws, on the fate of living beings. Here the adverse Destiny is caught in the moment in which, with agile hands, he starts the selection of human beings, allocating his benevolent protection to some, to others a desolating abandonment after having locked them up in the sad plots of adverse fate.
